It's been over two weeks since John and I were in Cabo last. I still miss it.
The first week back was filled with ideas on things that can be done (via internet) to help the unwanted abandoned dogs and cats in Los Cabos. During this week, I spent alot of time finding out more about the organizations in Cabo that rescue, foster, and try to find homes for these animals. While doing this, there were a few posts on facebook regarding dogs that were found in Los Cabos that were obviously on vacation with their owners. Their tags were in English but the people that found the dogs did not speak or read English.
Alas, another idea ... help find owners. So I created the "Lost and Found" section in CaboFriends website. I also registered the domain "www.cabolostandfound" which now points to the the same section of classifieds. Figured if nothing else, I can translate the "Spanish" posts I get to "English" and vice-versa. The thought of a lost family pet in Cabo breaks my heart.
The second week was spent doing more of the same. In addition, heard more news of the Drug Cartel related violence in Mexico. This was nothing new, but now the news is reporting that Hezbolla "may" be involved with the Drug Cartels. Now this does concern me. We always go to Cabo without fear of Cartel violence, we felt they don't give a hoot about tourists unless a tourist gets in their way. Cabo is far from their "route" and I don't believe the territory is even in dispute. But .... Hezbolla is another story. So, second week spent trying not to think that maybe someday I would not be going to Cabo.
Third week ... who am I kidding? Of course I'll be going back to Cabo!
Forgot to mention ... the dogs and owners were reunited!
