LOS CABOS WINERY

“Have you ever dined in a cave surrounded by oak barrels of wine being aged before your eyes?”

If not, you are in for a unique experience when you visit the Los Cabos Winery in Cabo San Lucas, BCS. Allow me to introduce Robert Turnage whose vision and passion for wine has created a food & entertainment emporium in a rustic location of Cabo.

Robert has been involved in the wine-making industry for many years; he applies his knowledge of what makes a good wine a great wine and each day as he welcomes guests to his eclectic setting. Along with the temperature-controlled aging cave, the Los Cabos Winery has a blending, bottling and labelling section; a wine-tasting room; and a lounge area with art and sculptures to provide a relaxing atmosphere for everyone. The theatre upstairs is available for plays, weddings and special events.

Premium grapes are selected from the world famous Napa Valley, Central Coast and Sonoma, and the California Appellations to which he applies his wine knowledge and experience to seek out exceptional selections of ‘locally-produced’ vintages. The limited production of ultra premium wines rests in the wine cave for up to two years in conditions that mimic the old world winery caves.

The Los Cabos Winery specializes in selecting low yield, limited production vineyards which provide for ultra-premium wines that are finished in oak wine barrels for six to twenty-four months. Since this process and bottling occurs on-site, visitors get to see the start-to-finish stages firsthand and can even participate by joining in on the bottling line and tasting the first glasses once the wine is bottled!

Robert also travels to Argentina and Chile which are recognized for their high-quality wines; using tried and true methods, he creates blended wines with flavours that are agreeable to any palate. Try a tasting of all the brands then select your favourite to have with tapas or full dinners in the restaurant lounge or in the wine cave surrounded by barrels of aging wines and also take home a bottle to enjoy at another time.

Visitors are granted a free membership in the Los Cabos Wine Club, which allows wine enthusiasts and connoisseurs to enjoy Los Cabo Wines while here or back home. Quarterly shipments are available to anywhere in the world and Members enjoy discounts and access to private tastings. The blending and bottling line section allows you to create your own blend, bottle your own wine and design your own custom brand label for 2 or more cases of wine.

You then may age the wine at the winery in your own lockable storage bin in the wine cave at the perfect temperature and humidity or you may take it to your own wine cellar.

The Los Cabos Winery offers five-star dining which features tapas to steaks and lobster... for example, try a meat & cheese platter paired with a private reserve Cabernet Sauvignon; Napoleon caprese salad paired with Viognier private reserve; Grilled or coconut shrimp with mango sauce paired with a chardonnay from the Russian River; or a large filet mignon served with garlic mashed potatoes paired with their Melange De trios blend from Napa ...yum, yum!!

The Los Cabos Winery Restaurant is open daily from 6 to 11pm and during dinner; enjoy live piano entertainment with light jazz, contemporary and classical selections Wednesday through Saturday evenings. Seating is for up to 45 people in a comfortable living room environment or a group of up to 50 or for a couple that want a truly unique dining experience, lots of ambience and privacy can be enjoyed in the wine cave surrounded by the sweet smell of aging barrels of wine.

The website is www.loscaboswinery.net (624 143 8088) reservations are strongly suggested as their small unique restaurant is known for excellent food at reasonable prices and has become very popular.
